Monitor testing

Annual testing of monitoring equipment - on site!

Regulation 19(2) of IRR99 requires that all equipment used to monitor for radioactive contamination and/or radiation dose rate in supervised and controlled areas be adequately tested at appropriate intervals (normally annually ACoP para. 348).

To provide minimum disruption to your work programme we offer an on-site service where a qualified person (Reg. 19(3)) will attend your site to carry out the annual testing of contamination meters*.

Our low level sources used are traceable to national standards and our testing method is fully compliant with the recommendations made in NPL Guidance 'The Examination, Testing & Calibration of Portable Radiation Protection Instruments Measurement Good Practice' [Guide No. 14]. A copy of our method can be provided upon request.

*Note: because of safety implications dose rate meters cannot be tested on site. Our turn around time for these instruments is normally 3 days.
